Pet Top Tips

Top Tip 1

My dog has diarrhoea

Add Digestive Aid Pumpkin to their meals which will resolve it very quickly.  If the problem persists after trying this speak to us about a more long term solution as your dog may have developed a food intolerance.

Top Tip 2

My dog has reflux

Add Brewers Yeast to their meals  (not suitable for yeasty dogs) Please enquire about amount to be given.

Top Tip 3

My dog has bad breath

Add granulated Seaweed to their meal (not suitable for dogs that have thyroid problems) Please enquire about the amount to be given.  If the bad breath is caused by plaque/tartar build-up see tip 4

Top Tip 4

My dog has tartar build up

Give an Ostrich bone for 10 mins as often as required (I only advise 10 mins to make it less expensive as one bone can cost £13 and some dogs like mine can finish the whole thing in half an hour!).

Top Tip 5

My dog brings up bile during the night/early morning

This is a very common problem and can usually be fixed easily by adjusting meal amounts and feeding times.  If your dog is fed twice a day try and make the meals 10-11 hours apart, maybe make the evening meal slightly larger then the morning meal.  If that doesn’t fix the problem please pop in for a chat.

Top Tip 6

My dog is really fussy

It could be that you just haven’t tried the right food yet, even though you think you have tried them all!   We stock a selection of the highest quality super premium foods which you have probably never heard of, let alone tried.
We have free samples of some foods and small taster sizes of others for you to purchase.

Top Tip 7

My dog won't eat

My dogs are fed at 7.30am & 6.30pm. Do not offer any food, treats or tit bits outwith these times.  Do not try and coax them to eat. If your dog has not finished the meal in 10 minutes put the food away in a cupboard (or fridge if wet or raw) Do this at every meal for 2 days. If your dogs finishes a meal make a great fuss of them and give them their favourite treat or toy.
If they do not eat at all ignore them for an hour after you remove the food.
NO TREATS AT ALL until your dog regularly finishes meals.
If the above fails try platter feeding (barkcuterie). Use a flat surface like a lickimat (do not use a wooden chopping board as you can’t clean it properly) and put a small amount of different types of foods around the edges:  selection of dog foods / meats like Turkey or Beef / boiled or scrambled Egg / Sardines, Tuna or Salmon / Beef Heart / Cottage Cheese / Yogurt / Fruits / Vegetables.
I am not telling you to try all of the above at once, pick 3-4 foods at a time.  Don’t be scared to try different things that are not on this list and keep note of your dogs likes and dislikes.
We can help guide you with feeding amounts
